Built in 1850 and modelled on London’s Westminster Hall, the Town Hall features an impressive hammer-beam roof as well as superb stained glass windows, paintings, heraldic symbols and a magnificent fireplace of local stone.

The refurbishment features a new public entrance with improved access for all, including a lift taking disabled persons to the main floors, upgrading of the facilities within the building including the kitchen and enhanced security and fire detection systems. The new facilities will help enhance use of the historic building with corporate events, functions and even weddings.
